On the headset base, there is a phone icon and a PC icon. Updated the firmware, it was ok for a day or two. I set her base with my headset, updated the firmware, all seemed to be good, for about a week, then same issues she was having. I swapped out my base for hers, set her up, it seemed to be working fine. We found that exiting Skype solved the problem, but we use Skype for IM communications between departments, so that wasn't practical. I went through the setups I did for mine, seemed to work for a day or two, then back to the strange behavior. Press the base buttons, and would get it back. They would be using the softphone talking to someone, Skype would take over, and they couldn't hear them. It worked fine for awhile, but another person was having all sorts of issues with their headset, Skype, and softphone. I didn't have to push any buttons on the headset base, the softphone app worked, I could listen to music, and participate in online meetings, not just Skype but the usual others.

It took a lot of trial and error, but I finally got everything to work together. Jabra 9540 headset, S-Net Communications softphone, and Skype for Business. Hope this adds some color to things without making it too complicated! Not sure what to suggest if you need to continue using the headset fob controls. That might be ok if you were ok with answering using the controls on the computer and not the fob. I still had audio and mic, but the fob controls were effectively disabled. ZZafis has a good point - I have been researching something similar, and also came across a suggestion to disable the USB Input Device in Device manager that relates to the headset. I don’t recall the exact steps we took, but It was a combination of turning exclusive locking off, as well ad fiddling with Skype. You want recording devises (to start), Select your device, properties, advanced. Right click on the speaker (audio controls) bottom right of the screen.
